Repairs, adjustments and fitting

Free, while you wait, whether or not they came from here.

A frame that has slipped down the nose has moved the optical centre of the lens away from the pupil, which is a real change to how somebody sees and not a cosmetic complaint. Adjustment is the cheapest thing in optics and the most neglected. Bring them in as often as you like, and you do not have to have bought them here.

What this includes

  • Straightening, tightening and re-setting the fit
  • New nose pads, new temple tips, new screws
  • Soldering a metal frame where the break will take it
  • Re-glazing your own frame with new lenses where the frame is sound
  • An honest answer when a frame is not worth repairing

What this is not

  • Some breaks cannot be repaired, and a brittle old acetate frame will often snap somewhere else
  • We will not re-glaze a frame we think will not survive the glazing

The policy

  • Adjustments and repairs

Free, for as long as you own the glasses, whether or not they came from here, and without an appointment. The only thing we will not do is re-glaze a frame we believe will not survive it.
