Straight talk
What your plan pays is between you and your plan
What you might expect to hear
“Your insurance covers this.”
What is actually true
Nobody in this building can tell you what your plan will pay. We will check what it says before you come, we will tell you what we were told, and we will not represent that as a promise from your insurer, because it is not ours to give.
Why
A vision plan and a medical plan pay for different visits, the same appointment can fall under either depending on why you came, deductibles and allowances reset on dates nobody remembers, and an eligibility answer given in September can be wrong in October. Every practice that has ever said the words "you're covered" has later had a patient open a bill they were not expecting.
What we do instead
The fee for every appointment on this site is published on this site, before you book, so that you know what the visit costs if no plan pays for any of it. Anything a plan does pay is a reduction from a number you already knew.
- We cannot tell you what your plan will pay, and we will not say that you are covered.
- We do not check eligibility in real time, and an answer given last month can be wrong this month.
- Nothing on this site is a quotation, and no figure here is a promise from an insurer.
